Like everything else on Liquid, our new integrated payroll module is designed to save time and money and make it easier to run your business, or work with your clients (if you’re an accountant or bookkeeper).

Liquid’s payroll comes with a set-up wizard to make sure you’ve entered in all the correct information and set everything up properly before you start.  This includes:

  • tax year,
  • tax reference,
  • tax office name,
  • nominals – choose where and how you want to record people’s pay in your accounts,
  • employee details
  • frequency and type of payments
  • pay amounts
  • deductions

Once this has been done you can simply click ‘Update’ in the Payroll menu and fill in the date, type of payment and select who needs to be paid, whenever you need to do a payroll run.

However, as usual Liquid’s payroll comes with a choice of advanced functionality (designed for some of our bigger clients) that allows you to tailor the module to work for you and your company.  These include:

  • a computerised version of the HMRC Yellow Book summarising all your payments month by month
  • bulk amend and reset facilities
  • a pay summary that can be emailed to contractors and workers who are paid by you and tax is deducted, but they are not employees (for example, if you run a CIS scheme)
  • the ability to pay people at different times and over different periods
  • employee count (used by auditors for year end accounts)
  • use with job costing or departmental analysis
  • payroll analysis (which allows payroll to be processed without the employee details being shown)
  • a schedule showing how the net amounts have been calculated from the gross minus deductions
