One of the key reasons for our switch to Liquid Accounts was that, as a communications agency, we use Apple Macs everyday for our design work and we needed an accounting package that could be viewed in mac format. Liquid Accounts is one of those things that once you have it, you can't imagine being without.

I managed to complete all Integral’s accounts for a single week without any accounting knowledge and just using the excellent video blogs that are provided free of charge. I also actually rather enjoyed it! From now on, we are going to complete the weekly accounts internally. This alone will be a significant cost saving of around £5000.00 per year.

Liquid has business advice within the application - an example of this is with HR information where a tab leads to a collection of documents such as employment and health and safety policies produced and maintained by a HR specialist.

Because Liquid Accounts started life as an enterprise system, it offers a depth of functionality that is unusual in online accounting systems, but this is cleverly concealed with a veneer of simplicity. Because Liquid Accounts has the potential to expand like a modular system, along with the business as it grows, it is scalable enough (in terms of features and concurrent users) for a broad range of business sizes and types to use, and charging for add-ons keeps the price competitive.

Having originally developed accounting software for multi-site UK companies with a turnover of £2-20m, Liquid Accounts has evolved from Jon Wright’s work for these companies, so unlike many competing software as a service (SaaS) providers, Liquid Accounts has been scaled down for use by smaller companies - yet has all the additional functionality that much larger businesses may require, now or in future, and these can simply be added on and paid for, but only as and when needed. Looking at the feature list it is difficult to imagine a scenario where Liquid Accounts would be unable to meet a potential user’s needs. The HR tab gives access to a collection of documents such as employment and health and safety policies ...

Liquid is helping us enormously. At the end of every month we have an accounting statement for the month that we know is at least 95% correct. Our accountant is also supposed to produce monthly management reports for us, but we haven’t had one for 2009 yet! If we didn’t have Liquid we’d be using Excel spreadsheets to keep track of everything but that’s unacceptable for a company with 15 employees - you can’t run a business like that! Liquid is tremendous value - in fact, if anything, it’s probably too cheap. I would expect a package with this sort of functionality to cost at least $100 per user and we’d be happy to pay $2-300 per month for 2 full ...

The fact that the package is completely scalable means that I’m not paying for components that I don’t need, making Liquid a perfect choice for businesses of all sizes. Now I use Liquid on a daily basis, whether I’m working at home, in the office or when travelling around the country. Being able to access the accounts from any location ensures that I can keep completely up to date with the business’s finances. With Liquid being completely online, I can liaise with the team up in Scotland whilst viewing exactly the same up-to-date figures. I can also bring up the numbers when I’m at the accountant’s, meaning that there is no need for back-ups or file transfers.

I am able to manage the accounts of my clients from any location. I can access up-to-date figures from their offices, from my office, from the comfort of my own home, or when I am on the move. Also, my clients can log in at the same time and I can give them remote financial advice, despite being hundreds of miles apart. Auditors can also be given remote access, which helps to streamline their work and keep the audit cost down. For untrained end-users, the user interface provides an easy-to-use, jargon-free accounting package that has the feel of a regular offline desktop package.

We chose Liquid as we needed an accounting package that could grow with our business and be accessed worldwide. As an expanding business, we need multiple user accounts for us and our bookkeeper, who is located in the USA. As a business that operates internationally, we receive payments in a range of different currencies. Liquid’s multi-currency function allows us to process transactions in different currencies without any hassle. Another strength of Liquid is their customer support. I know that I can ring at any time of day if I am having a problem doing my accounts and they will bust a gut to fix it as soon as they can. This service is much more personal and friendly than Sage and best ...

As a growing business, we felt that we needed an accounting package that could grow with us. With Liquid’s software, we are able to choose the applications that we need, whereas with Sage, we were paying for things that we would never use. Liquid cleverly cuts out the jargon, making it easy for non-accountants to use, without the need for expert accounting advice. The setup and layout of the package is very user-friendly and makes doing the accounts much simpler and stress-free.
