UK cloud accounting software market leader Liquid Accounts has joined forces with online green marketplace and company formation agent, @UK PLC to launch www.cloud-start-up.com; a complete business start-up package that includes a new company, domain name, e-commerce website, business club membership and exclusive start-up version of Liquid
Cloud Accounting software.   The initiative allows new start-ups to start trading immediately with over 1 million buyers on the @UK ecommerce marketplace.

Liquid Accounts MD, Matt Holmes said:

‘Statistics show that it’s crucial for start-ups to get to grips with their accounts from day one, but that many don’t because they’re focused on all the exciting things like products and branding.  However, while 4 out of 5 new start-ups fail within the first three years, 4 out of 5 who use a computerised accounting system survive, simply because they can quickly and easily keep track of money coming in and going out and make sure that they don’t run out!

‘With www.cloud-start-up.com they’re effectively getting ‘a business in a box’ that allows them to get up and running instantly.
And as part of that, our easy to use cloud accounting system helps them keep track of their figures and essential business information instantly from any device with an internet connection and share them with their accountant, bank or advisors.’

Budding entrepreneurs visiting the site will be able to instantly form a company and choose from a selection of cloud start up packages, which include all their essential business tools.  Prices start from £9.99 per month.

Both companies behind the venture are UK market leaders in cloud computing and active in BASDA, the Business Application Software Developers Association (Matt Holmes is Chair of the Cloud Computing Special Interest Group and Ronald Duncan
is co-Chair of the Green Special Interest Group, and Deputy Chair of the eBusiness Special Interest Group).  Both are also on the Governing Body of the Cloud Industry Forum and are committed to supporting and encouraging UK enterprise.

The launch of www.cloud-start-up.com also coincides with the roll-out of the Department of Work and Pension’s New Enterprise Allowance Scheme, and @UK PLC’s 20th anniversary.  To celebrate Liquid and @UK PLC are offering cloud start-up packages to
all New Enterprise Allowance applicants, plus @UK PLC’s charity will give match-funding loans of £1000.  Ronald Duncan, Chairman and Technical Director of @UK PLC, commented:

“20 years ago I started off in business using Enterprise Allowance.  It was a great program to get the unemployed working, however there is a lot to do when you start up.  Our joint package with Liquid Accounts means that you can get everything done in a few hours and be able to focus on your business from day one.

‘The Government made a very wise investment of a few thousand pounds 20 years ago which has repaid millions of pounds in tax and identified billions of pounds of savings.’

NEA will be available to Jobseekers Allowance (JSA) customers who have been claiming for 26-weeks or more.

Participants will get access to a volunteer business mentor who will provide guidance and support as they develop their business plan and through the early months of trading. Once a customer can demonstrate they have a viable business proposition with the potential for growth in the future, they will be able to access financial support. This will consist of:

The total package of support could be worth up to £2,274 to each participant who starts their own business.

DWP expect there to be approximately 40,000 customers for New Enterprise Allowance.
