Liquid eases the pain of starting-up for local physio

Liquid has teamed up with local businessman and qualified physiotherapist, Chris Liversidge, to help launch his new Huddersfield-based physiotherapy service, North Light Physiotherapy.

Chris, whose career aim was to be self-employed, chose Liquid’s online accounting package after hearing about its flexibility and ease-of-use from close friend and Liquid MD, Matt Holmes. The fact that Liquid’s package is scalable and can be used by businesses of all size means that Chris can use it to track his accounts regularly in the important early stages of development, leaving him free to focus his attention on other areas of the business.

‘Having no accounting or business experience prior to using Liquid has not hindered me in any way. Liquid’s simple, non-accounting terminology means that I’m able to understand my finances whilst gaining a greater knowledge of how to run my business.

Liquid does exactly what it says on the tin and features everything that a sole-trader or small business would need.’

Chris has also teamed up with another Huddersfield-based company, Mosaic Virtual Office, to help get his business up and running. Mosaic offers a modern telephone answering and secretarial service for companies who do not choose to hire their own secretarial staff, helping small companies, such as North Light Physiotherapy, to run more efficiently.

‘Without Mosaic, my business would never have got off the ground. They manage my appointments and take bookings, all via online calendars and e-mail, which takes the stress out of managing my diary and leaves me free to focus on other areas of the business.’

Set up in March 2010, North Light Physiotherapy provides short-term solutions to patients referred to NHS Physiotherapy services locally, who would like to get started sooner, as waiting times may be lengthy.

Prior to forming North Light Physiotherapy, Chris worked in the NHS and spotted the opportunity to form a private physiotherapy service for those who were suffering from injuries, breakages and muscular pains in his local area.

Chris is keen to make people aware that there is a viable alternative to passively waiting for the NHS appointment to come through, especially with employers now tightening up on sick leave following the economic downturn.
