Eugene McCrink is a qualified chartered accountant and operates through Accountax Plus, a fully registered and authorised firm of chartered accountants based between Lancaster and Preston in the North West of England.
Having qualified as a chartered accountant in the 1994, Eugene went on to work in a variety of different roles and industries from management accountant to a Finance Director of a FTSE 250 company.
In 2007, after realising that an opportunity existed to offer SME businesses a more comprehensive and cost efficient financial service, Eugene set up Accountax Plus Chartered Accountants and Business Advisers. Eugene uses his expert knowledge of accounting to manage the accounts of various SMEs, who need someone with industry experience and accounting expertise to manage their accounts.
Eugene also acts as a part-time Financial Director for some of these companies, managing all areas of the business’ accounts, from VAT to payroll.
Eugene has been using Liquid since 2008, having heard about the market-leading accounting software when Liquid won the 2008 Software Satisfaction Award for Accounting and Finance.
When searching for high quality accounting software to offer his clients, Eugene was looking for an online package that he could access from any location, whether at home, in his office or when on the move.
Eugene felt that being able to access the accounting records of his clients from any location would enhance his client service, save him time and cost in travelling to meet with his clients in person and ultimately give him greater flexibility in his role.
‘Liquid can be used by businesses at both ends of the spectrum, whether a start-up or a large business as the package is flexible and can grow with the business. As well as being an ideal accounting package for freelancers to be able to log in from home and check on their sales figures, Liquid has the scope to become a bigger, more complex system for larger businesses.
One of my main reasons behind choosing Liquid was the fact that I acted as a part-time Finance Director for a company who maintained a sales administration department in the UK and their back-office accounts processing in Malta. As such, I needed a multi-location, easy-access software package, which could also manage multiple currencies.
One of my main clients, a coach company, operates in multiple locations across the UK, although they do most of their work in and around London. They have a bookkeeper to manage their day-to-day accounts and I am able to act as a remote Financial Director from the other end of the country.
Liquid offers a great, free support service to its users and their guys understand any problems that I’m experiencing with the system and are very quick to fix it.’
